If you hold an Australian CASA Instrument Rating and live or work overseas, you may be able to complete your Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) without returning to Australia.
With CASA approval, Elevate Aviation can conduct the ground and knowledge component remotely by video meeting. The practical component is then completed in an approved overseas flight simulator with a suitably authorised foreign examiner.
Elevate Aviation coordinates the Australian assessment requirements and CASA paperwork, making the process clear and straightforward.
This service may be suitable for:

Contact us with your current location, time zone, preferred timeframe and details of the simulator you intend to use.
You will be asked to complete a simple one page questionnaire that will be used to support your application to CASA.
We then submit a request to CASA seeking approval to conduct the ground and knowledge assessment electronically.
The request explains why an in-person assessment is not practical and how the integrity of the remote assessment will be maintained.
Approval is considered by CASA individually, however so far we have a 100% approval success rate!
Following CASA approval, our examiner conducts the ground component by video meeting, such as Microsoft Teams. We will prepare you beforehand with an overview.
You will require a stable internet connection, working camera and microphone, and a quiet private room. The online meeting generally takes approximately 60 minutes.
You then complete the practical component in an approved overseas flight simulator with a foreign examiner who is authorised to conduct Instrument Proficiency Checks - see details in the FAQ section below.
The full IPC must be completed within 35 days of the nominated flight test notification date. Elevate Aviation will confirm your applicable completion deadline.
The foreign examiner sends the completed assessment results to us.
Following a successful assessment, we review the documentation, complete the required CASA forms, makes the Australian licence entry (electronically) and submit the final paperwork to CASA.
The overseas practical component must be conducted:
Evidence of the simulator’s qualification and the foreign examiner’s authorisation must be provided.
We will explain exactly what is required before you arrange the practical component.
Please reach us at info@elevateaviation.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.
