Aviation Radio Operator Certificate (AROC)

The AROC course is designed to be completed through self-paced study, with most participants requiring approximately 4 hours to complete the required course material.

You can complete it from the comfort of your own home at your own pace.

There will then be a short 30 minute online (Microsoft Teams) practical assessment that can be booked at the completion of your self-study.

Complete your AROC in 3 simple steps:

Step 1: Review the AROC workbook
Work through the course material in your own time, typically taking around 4 hours.

Step 2: Submit your documents
Submit your completed workbook exam, photo ID, ARN and General English Language Proficiency evidence.

Step 3: Complete a 30 minute online practical
Complete a short practical radio assessment via Microsoft Teams.

Once successful, you will be issued a CASA Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate within 24 hours by CASA.

On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued a CASA Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC).

You will also be issued a General English Language Proficiency (GELP) Certificate by CASA.

To be issued an AROC in Australia, one of the requirements is to demonstrate General English Language Proficiency (GELP).

To satisfy this you will need to provide us with one (1) of the following documents:

• Option 1: a Secondary School Graduation Certificate, or if currently enrolled in School a Letter from the school confirming enrolment, or

• Option 2: a Diploma, Certificate IV, or University completion certificate, or

• Option 3: a letter from your employer showing you have worked in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, or the USA for at least 3 of the last 5 years (group certificates are also acceptable), or

• Option 4: English test results, such as IELTS, TOEIC-SP or TOEFL.

Can’t provide one of the above?

Not a worry at all! Elevate Aviation can conduct a short 20 minute in-person assessment in Perth to ensure that you meet the requirements for GELP. If you are not able to produce one of the above documents and are not located in Perth, please contact us to discuss options.
