Rating Flight Tests - MEA, IR, NVFR & FIR
Our flight examiner, Daniel, conducts flight tests for Multi-Engine Aeroplane (MEA) class ratings, Night VFR (NVFR) ratings, Instrument Ratings (IR) and Flight Instructor Ratings (FIR).
Flight tests are conducted in a calm, fair and professional manner. Daniel is based at Jandakot Airport in Perth and is available to travel interstate by arrangement.

Rating Flight Tests Available
A Multi-Engine Aeroplane class rating allows you to operate suitable multi-engine aeroplanes and can open further opportunities in professional and advanced flying.
Daniel conducts MEA class rating flight tests in various aircraft, including:
- Beechcraft Duchess BE76
- Piper PA-44 Seminole
- Piper PA-34 Seneca
- Beechcraft Baron BE55 and BE58
- Piper Aztec PA-23
- Piper PA-31 Navajo and Chieftain

Advanced aircraft by arrangement:
- Cessna 441 Conquest
- King Air B200, including analogue and Pro Line-equipped aircraft
The aircraft must be arranged by you or your flight training organisation and must be suitable for the assessment.

An Instrument Rating allows you to operate under the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), expanding your ability to fly in a wider range of conditions and conduct instrument approaches.
Daniel conducts flight tests for the initial issue of an Instrument Rating. Candidates must complete the required training and meet the applicable flight-test eligibility requirements before the assessment.

A Night VFR rating allows you to continue flying after last light, providing greater flexibility for private and professional flying.
Daniel conducts Night VFR flight tests in suitable single-engine and multi-engine aeroplanes arranged by you or your flight training organisation.
Candidates must complete the required training and meet the applicable flight-test eligibility requirements before the assessment.

A Flight Instructor Rating allows you to conduct flight training within the privileges of their training endorsements.
Daniel conducts flight tests for the initial issue of a Flight Instructor Rating. Candidates must complete the required instructor training and meet the applicable flight-test eligibility requirements before the assessment.
The proposed aircraft or simulator, training endorsements and assessment requirements must be confirmed with Daniel before booking.

Daniel conducts C500/550/560(SP) type rating flight tests in the Cessna Citation C550 Bravo and C560 series.
Candidates must complete the required type-rating training and meet the applicable flight-test eligibility requirements before the assessment. Daniel will coordinate with you and your flight training organisation to confirm the aircraft, documentation and test arrangements.
Differences training may be required depending on the C560 model or variant used. Your training organisation should confirm the applicable requirements before the flight test.

No. Elevate Aviation provides independent flight testing. The required training must be completed with an appropriate flight training organisation before your assessment.
Yes. Flight schools and training organisations are welcome to contact Daniel directly to arrange examiner availability for their candidates.
Contact Daniel once you have an expected training-completion date. Early enquiries are recommended for specialised aircraft, simulator assessments and interstate tests.
Documentation requirements vary according to the rating and assessment. Daniel will confirm what is required before the flight test.
Some flight tests may be conducted in an approved simulator, depending on the rating, aircraft type and assessment requirements. Contact Daniel to confirm whether your proposed simulator is suitable.
Daniel will explain the result during the post-flight debrief and complete the required examiner documentation and notifications. In the event of a pass result, Daniel will record the rating on your FCL and you are permitted to exercise the privileges immediately.
